  • I hate to leave this as a review, i will be coming here again. I honestly think we went on a bad day. Food was good, but sandwich lacked presence of meat. It looks much thicker in the picture than it was. Had 2 slices of beef. Horseradish was great. The milkshake was fantastic. I will most likely visit the original location next time though. Usually things are better if the boss is there.

  • Right down the street from KBUF. Small restaurant. Nice dining area outside. You walk in and order, walk around the corner to pay, and have a seat. The Brunswick stew was worth the trip by itself. It was delicious! The Beef on Weck with the raw horseradish was really good. I'm not typically going to pick a roast beef sandwich, but this roll (the Weck) takes it up another notch! The staff were very nice. I wish I'd gotten another bowl of the stew.

  • Order the corned beef on a gluten-free roll. The corned beef was very juicy. It had a very nice flavor to it. It was not too fatty. The roll was gluten-free and served cold from the refrigerator. We were not sure since this was our first time there whether or not they toast the rolls. It was not offered so we assumed it wasn’t possible. When we were done we ordered chocolate shakes. They were good too. I would eat at this restaurant again. The pricing was reasonable. The restaurant was clean. The staff was knowledgeable.

  • What an experience at Charlie the Butcher’s original site. Small place full of locals with great service and food. A must visit if in Buffalo NY. Must have the beef on Weck roast beef sandwich amazing. Everything we tried including home made apple pie was fantastic. Charlie was in, he and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

  • The portion could have been bigger. The prime rib was great as well as the slaw. Homemade horseradish as far as I could tell. My wife had the Beef On Weck and loved it!

  • A small but spacious inside. While on Buffalo you must try the Beef on Weck so we stopped here. A hearty sized roast was ready to be freshly sliced from. The special bun was dipped in the au jus sauce and horseradish on the side to provide all the flavors. This sandwich was delicious and I would definitely try it again whenever in the area!

  • Finally stopped into the Charlie The Butcher location on Elmwood. Remember them for the days at the Broadway Market. I was not disappointed! Friendly, prompt service, and great food! I got the traditional Beef on Weck with a side of Rice Pudding to go. Opened up the bag and yes! A beautiful fresh Beef on Weck with a side of horseradish, a pickle spear, and napkins :) The Rice Pudding looks as good as the Towne's, but I can't try it yet, I'm too full! Will go back soon to try one of their daily diners to take home. Do check them out, it's good and well priced...
